World Trade Center by Taylor Pina

On September 11, 2001, in New York City, two airplanes were hijacked and crashed into the World Trade Center. President Bush, would need to prove that he was a leader that America could count on.  More than 3,000 people were killed during the attacks on 9/11 (9/11 attacks), 9/11 will be a day remembered forever by America. Along with 9/11, we gain several conspiracy theories.
: 1. Jet fuel can’t melt steel beams.
2. The government did 9/11.
3. There were bombs that went off when the planes hit the building.
Let's explore these conspiracy theories with bombs inside the twin towers being the most logical solution.
Bush became The United States of America’s forty third president; he could have been seen as a very ambitious man. He did several things through life, such as serving as a national guard, receiving a Masters degree of Business Administration  and starting his own oil and gas exploration company (History 1). While being president, Bush had to stand strong and make responsible decisions due to the 9/11 attacks. This put all of his hopes for the country to an halt, his father said that George “faced the greatest challenge of any president since Abraham Lincoln” (whitehouse gov 1).

As an ambitious leader, George Bush was your stereotypical Republican, so he would share the same ideas as every other one, “He's got a kind of perseverance, a tenacity. There is a kind of personal stubbornness that makes him take hold of something, and not let it go.” says George’s former speechwriter David Frum (Traits and instincts 1). Nicholas Lemann, the political correspondent of the New Yorker, says that Bush is a risk taker, ambitious and an elitist since he believes George was born with everything (Traits and Instincts 1). “He has a tremendous ability to get at the essence of things. He used to say that he was an instinctive decision-maker. He based a lot of things on gut feel.” says his longtime friend Clay Johnson (1).
Bush’s ambition led him to being a strong leader. While reading books with a class of elementary students Bush was told of the horrific events of 9/11. Four  airplanes had been hijacked: two which crashed into the twin towers, one crashed into the Pentagon and the last was crashed before reaching its destination. President Bush sat there and finished reading the book. You could see the devastation in his face. He had to decide on what would be the best route to take for such an event; being the leader of the a country is a difficult task and he had to do what he felt was best. Bush chose to declare war on Iraq.
Ambitious and being a strong leader is two things President Bush was known for. When the time came, he showed that during any tough decisions that may come, that he would do what is best for America. From owning his own company to becoming the President of America; Bush was certain he could overcome anything. When the 9/11 attacks happened, Bush knew he could not stop doing his best.
During the attacks on the World Trade Center, several conspiracy theories have surfaced. One of the most prevalent and talked about, is the theory that it is impossible for jet fuel to melt steel beams. The second one, is that the government is to blame for the events that unfolded on 9/11. And the last, bombs inside the building caused an explosion as soon as the planes hit.
The first conspiracy theory suggest that the government hid things from us. Jet fuel cannot melt steel beams “Steel melts at a temperature of 2,777 degrees Fahrenheit, but jet fuel burns at only 1,517 degrees F,” (Scientific American). It is believed that the government had a secret for the reason the tower collapsed. Jet fuel was not the only thing burning: paper, carpet and furniture were also part of it (Popular Mechanics). The fires reached a temperature of 1832°F (1).
The second conspiracy theory accuses the US Government for the events of 9/11. Going to war with Iraq, was to get attention away from unanswered 9/11 questions (9/11 was a hoax).  It is also said the United States went to war for oil “Before the 2003 invasion, Iraq's domestic oil industry was fully nationalized and closed to Western oil companies. A decade of war later, it is largely privatized and utterly dominated by foreign firms,” (CNN). The government had a bomb put into the World Trade Center that would cause the explosion (beforeitsnews). When the bomb went off, it let out cancerous fumes, this caused over 350 of the first responders to die of cancer (1).
The third conspiracy theory, is that a controlled demolition led to the towers collapsing.
“They did not fall over; they imploded, in the way that most people have seen when a building is destroyed in a controlled demolition,” (Serendipity). There were multiple brief light sources that
could be seen going off on multiple floors (1).   Building 7 sat next to the Twin Towers, it fell after the towers on 9/11(express).  Fires from the towers caused the building to collapse, is the government's reason for the destruction of building 7 (1). There were no large pieces of wreckage remaining after the twin towers fell (whatreallyhappened). Multiple first responders at 9/11 say they heard explosions going off at the towers, “We were there I don’t know, maybe 10, 15 minutes and then I just remember there was just an explosion. It seemed like on television they blow up these buildings. It seemed like it was going all the way around like a belt, all these explosions…Not thinking that this building is coming down. We just thought there was going to be a big explosion, stuff was going to come down.”
When doing a poll at College of the Mainland, 70% of people asked, believed 9/11 was an inside job. With there being so many things that do not add up, it is easy to see why people still believe it was an inside job.  University of Alaska will be doing a study on how Tower 7 collapsed (activistpost). Articles still surface, trying to prove theories wrong, with new videos or information. 9/11 is a very controversial event, that we may never know what happened.
9/11, a day that will forever be remembered, is also a day that is shrouded with mystery. On September, 11th 2001, two planes were hijacked and crashed into the twin towers. With over 3,000 people dead, and many Americans watching the events unfold at home, many felt that what the government said, did not match up with what they saw.  Conspiracy theories surfaced about what really happened on 9/11. The people of america, have always felt, like they were not getting the full truth. Jet fuel cannot melt steel beams, bombs in the twin towers and the government did 9/11 are the conspiracies, that seemed, most appropriate to talk about. Bombs in the twin towers was the most logical theory.  Nonetheless, President Bush showed to be an ambitious, strong and hard-working leader.  9/11 has theories that are still talked about to this day, despite being over 10 years old!
