Area 51 Conspiracy Theories by Raquel Ornelas

What is Area 51? Who is Bob Lazar? These questions come with some interesting conspiracy theories that spark many people's attention. Area 51 was a highly kept secret government facility until it was exposed in 1989 by a former physicist by the name of Bob Lazar. Could it be that Area 51 is a facility where time travel has been studied by reverse-engineer scientists (Patti 4)? Maybe it is home of the Majestic 12, an extremely confidential group of 12 individuals who have had an ongoing relationship with aliens throughout the years.
Or possibly, Area 51 has been a test base for secret planes developed by the United States military (4). Let's take a dive into these extraordinary conspiracies and expose what Area 51 really is and perhaps find out if Bob Lazar’s allegations are indeed true.
Who is Bob Lazar? Government employees point Lazar as a liar, yet many of these claims can be proven as false. So, who exactly was this UFO expert? Bob Lazar, born Robert Lazar, was and still is a brain smart man. According to Stanton Friedman, Lazar graduated from W. Tresper Clarke High school in Westbury Long Island, New York (Mahood). Lazar is someone you would portray as a high achiever.  After Lazars graduation from W. Tresper Clarke High School, he received two Master's Degrees (Lazar  Flaws - Education). His motivation was on full blast. In 1982, he obtained a Master of Science in Physics, MIT, Cambridge, Massachusetts  and proceeded in getting his Masters of Science in Electronic Technology, Cal Tech, California (1.).Image result for bob lazar
Just one glance of Lazar would automatically lead you to believe that he was in fact a scientist. He was a bright, young, Caucasian with brown hair, who wore the thickest pair of glasses you could imagine. Standing out from the ordinary, Lazar was true to form. He was hired at Los Alamos where he worked for a few years as a technician and then as a physicist in the Polarized Proton Section (Lazars Flaws - Education). This man was a genius. During his time at Los Alamos he worked on a special project involving a super-fast jet car. He was in an article in the Los Alamos Monitor titled “LA MAN JOINS THE JET SET - 200 MILES AN HOUR”, which was about a jet car that Lazar had created and worked on for years with the help of a NASA researcher (Friedman, Stanton. “Bob Lazar.”). His passion for science and work was  intense.
Externally, there are two different portraits of Robert Lazar and his traits. Government officials, several journalists, and researchers have fabricated his name equivalent to that of liar.  Lazar claims that the United States Government completely wiped out all of his records. Documents from birth, college degrees, jobs that he once held, anything that could give Robert credit on his claims, were all diminished. There is little to absolutely no proof that can verify Lazars professional or educational background. Stanton Friedman, a nuclear physicist, stated that he spoke to legal counsel at MIT, the college Lazar obtained his master’s degree, and they said, “there was no way that Robert Lazars records could have been wiped out” (Stanton Friedman on Bob Lazar).  Lazars employment at Los Alamos could not be confirmed on record. Lazar stated he was hired at Area 51, S-4, where he was reverse engineering alien spacecraft’s, by the government. After exposing the research he was working on at Area 51, Lazar was terminated. How could the world believe Lazar’s stories when the government denied that he ever worked for them as a scientist?  How could anyone confirm Lazar’s allegations of the restricted  Area 51?
Despite the massive cover up, and the liar the government tried to paint Lazar to be, colleagues of his have a different viewpoint of him.  What would Robert's friends and colleagues have to say about him and his story? Lazar’s buddies believe that he is a honest man as friend Gene huff stated in an interview:  "He wouldn't go to the trouble to make up a story to lie to the people and then perpetuate that lie. Bob has no idea who won the Super Bowl last year, or the World Series. He is just busy doing scientific stuff in the Bob Lazar world. He wouldn't waste his time perpetuating a lie on anyone " (“Bob Lazar 2014”). Evidence of Lazars employment at Los Alamos surfaced when a former colleague by the name of Dr. Robert Krangle confirmed that in an interview with Jeremy Corbell:
CORBELL - But you did know that he was a physicist?
KRANGLE - Yes.
CORBELL - And that was very clear to you, that he was a physicist at Los Alamos and not again like, the janitor?
KRANGLE - Right. And in conversations with some of my colleagues ... you know again sitting over lunch, we would be talking about something something happening or, who's doing something. It's okay to talk amongst yourselves, your just not allowed to tell your wife or your kids what you're doing.  And somebody would lean over and say that's Bob over there ... he working on something something project (Corbell).

Not only has there been multiple people able to identify Lazar and corroborate his claims, but Lazar has also taken several lie detector test to support his story.  Bob Lazar is a smart man who worked undercover as a government employee. Although government officials continue to deny his employment, there is significant proof of his story.

There are three conspiracy theories regarding Area 51, and Bob Lazar is part of the first conspiracy theory. Could it be that Area 51 is a facility where space time travel has been studied by reverse - engineering scientist (Patti)? According to Bob Lazar, this is what he was hired on at Area 51 for.  Lazar’s duties at Area 51, also referred to as Groom Lake, consisted of back - engineering advance alien space crafts (1). He was working in an even more private sector at Groom Lake, known as S-4.  Lazar discovered an element that he calls Element 115, which was used in operating alien spacecrafts and space time traveling (Broden). Bob Lazar also mentioned that the propulsion system he was working on at Groom Lake S-4  had the incredible effect of invisibility (1). In an interview with George Knapp, Lazar explained how space time travel functions and is in fact likely.
Knapp: How does it work? What starts the reaction going?
Lazar: Really, once the 115 is put in, the reaction is initiated.
Knapp: Automatic.                                                                                                            Lazar:  Right.
Knapp: I don’t understand. I mean, there’s no button to push or anything?
Lazar: No, there’s no button to push or anything.Apparently, the 115 under    bombardment with protons lets out an antimatter  particle. This anti-matter particle will   react with any matter whatsoever, which I imagine there is some target system inside the reactor. This, in turn, releases heat, and somewhere within that system there is a one-hundred-percent-efficient thermionic generator, essentially a heat-to-electrical generator.
Lazar: Gravity is a wave. There are many different theories, wave included. It’s been theorized that gravity is also particles, gravitation, which is also incorrect. But gravity is a wave. The basic wave they can actually tap off of an element: why that is I’m not exactly sure.
Knapp: So you can produce your own gravity. What does that mean? What does that allow you to do?

Lazar: It allows you to do virtually anything. Gravity distorts time and space. By doing that, now you’re into a different mode of travel, where instead of traveling in a linear method — going from Point A to B — now you can distort time and space to where you essentially bring the mountain to Mohammed; you almost bring your destination to you without moving. And since you’re distorting time, all this takes place in between moments of time. It’s such a far-fetched concept (Mahood)
In a survey, 20 people were asked the question “Do you believe Bob Lazar and his allegations on Area 51”, 17 out of 20 of those people’s response were “yes”. It's difficult not to believe Bob Lazar and his claims when many of his allegations have strong evidence to fall back on.
The second conspiracy theory that has been floating around concerning  Area  51, is that it is home of the Majestic 12 (Patti). Although this theory correlates with Bob Lazars’ allegations on Groom Lake, it has its own stance as well. Majestic 12 was a group constructed by President Harry S. Truman after the ufo crashing incident that took place in Roswell decades ago (Klass). It was said shortly after this crash, Majestic 12 formulated an agreement with aliens, known as The Greys, and set up several secret bases where they would perform research and other top secret work (1).One of those bases happened to be at Area 51’s private sector, S-4. Documents regarding Majestic 12’s existence were leaked but were later found to be false (2). There has been multiple theories on the infamous  Majestic 12 alone but that's a talk of its own.Image result for area 51
The third conspiracy theory is that Area 51 has been a test base for secret spy planes developed by the United States Military (Conspiracies). Finally, after years of  speculation on Area 51 and its relation with aliens, government officials of the CIA announced, not too long ago, that Area 51 was a test base for the US military spy planes (Gorman).  It seems this theory is hard to prove true because anything pertaining to Area 51 is considered top secret information. It makes your mind wonder on what exactly to believe.

Area 51 was a highly kept secret government facility until it was exposed by a former physicist named Bob Lazar over 20 years ago. Several theories have developed over time concerning Area 51 including:
1.     It being a Facility where reverse-engineering scientist studied space time travel.
2.      Headquarters of the Majestic 12
3.      Secret test base for military spy planes
Although, government officials have striven to tear apart Lazar and his claims, there is a considerable amount of evidence that fell between the cracks. More eyewitnesses have came forward confirming Lazars allegations. Not to mention, that element 115 was first reported by Lazar decades ago and  has recently reemerged at a Russia laboratory (Kramer).
