On September 11, 2001, a series of
horrible events happened that changed the way we view our safety and our
freedom. This was the day that 19 militants with the group of
"al-Qaeda" hijacked four commercial airliners and carried out suicide
attacks against important US structures ("9/11 Attacks"). But, could
this be the only side of the story that the government and media are trying to
show us? Since then, there have been several different conspiracy theory's that
have solid information backing them up. These are the most popular among them:
1.
The
Twin Towers collapsed at free-fall accelerations through the path of greatest
resistance (Thomas).
2.
Nano-thermite
and military-grade explosives were found in dust from the towers. Tons of
melted steel were found in tower debris (1).
3. Tower 7, which wasn’t hit by a
plane, collapsed neatly into its own footprint (1).
Let's dive in deeper and go into detail about each of these
theories and see how possible these sides of the story could actually be,
compared to the story that has been aired on the news.
George W. Bush, the forty-third
president of The United States, faced many challenges throughout his presidency
and was under an excessive amount of stress that nobody could comprehend. Bush
encountered multiple conflicts that affected his role as the face of the
nation, but an issue within The United States in particular was the negative
effects of terrorism. On September 11, 2001, The World Trade Center of The
United States was attacked by a terrorist organization identified as Al Quaeda.
After further research and investigation, the head of the organization was
confirmed as a man by the name of Osama Bin Laden. This Islamic terrorist group
was very active against the citizens of The United States and as the president
of the nation, George W. Bush was under more tension than any other president
has been.
The main internal conflict that Bush
was facing at the time of the destruction of The Twin Towers was that no one
knew what to do, where to begin, or how society can contribute to help recover
from this horrible catastrophe. After the attack, many people became suspicious
of information given by the media. Could the media be involved with covering up
important data and key parts to the attack? Could the real story be a mystery
to the people across the nation? Furthermore, Bush creating Department of
Homeland Security, Bush sent American troops to Afghanistan to resolve our conflict
with the Taliban, and to seize Osama Bin Laden. This move by Bush put pressure
on the Taliban, forcing them to return back to there country and disrupt their
plans, but Bin Laden was still not found. The terrorist attack of The World
Trade Center affected Bush's mental health drastically and impacted the nation
of The United States as a whole."This is a day when all Americans, from
every walk of life, unite in our resolve for justice and peace," as
addressed by George W. Bush the
following evening of the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001 (Text of Bush's
Address).
George W. Bush's main external
conflict that caused stress was dealing with the aftermath of the attack and
the terrorist organization that corrupted our society. At the time of the first
attack, Bush was at a classroom in Sarasota, Florida to publicize his education
policy and to listen to students read (Rouse). At 8:55 AM, the first plane hit
one of the Twin Towers. At the time of the crash, it was dismissed as an
accident and Bush continued to carry on with the kids in the class room
(Griffin). After the second plane hit the other tower at approximately 9:05 AM,
Andrew Card, the chief of staff, addressed to Bush, "A second plane hit
the second Tower. America is under attack" (1). Bush had a very plain and
nonreactive behavior and remained to sit there minute after minute, not knowing
what to do, where to go, or what kind of action to take. "Jennifer Barrs
had reported in the Tampa Tribune that, after Card whispered in Bush’s
ear, the president picked up his book and read with the children for 'eight or
nine minutes' (Griffin).”
This type of conflict follows
internal conflict, because these were the problems that Bush was facing
himself. Bush was put in the position to be the leader of the country at the
wrong time, causing him to be stressed physically and emotionally. Bush was
blamed for the actions he didn't take, but no one knew what to do at the time
of the events, being faced with many challenges during the time, and was under
more stress than anyone should with the whole country in his hands.
On September 11th, four
airlines flights were hijacked by the al-Qaeda terrorist organization. Each
plane that was hijacked had its own destructive plan to cause our country the
most terror and havoc possible within a small time span. The planes target were
the Pentagon, the World Trade Center, and one of the three planes went down in
a open field in Pennsylvania. It wasn’t until much later when people started to
question the story of what actually occurred on September 11th,
2001. Many conspiracy theories have been stated on the internet, and some of
the theories are plausible. The Twin Towers collapsed at free-fall
accelerations through the path of greatest resistance, Nano-thermite and
military-grade explosives were found in dust from the towers, and tons of
melted steel were found also, and tower seven, which wasn’t hit by a plane,
collapsed neatly into its own footprint (Thomas).
The first theory states that the
Twin Towers collapsed at a free-fall acceleration through the path of greatest
resistance. Many people believe that the way the towers fell are not logical
and wouldn’t of falen the way they did if only the plane was the cause of the fall.
The Twin Towers fell completely to ground level in just fifteen to twenty
seconds (McIlvaine). Each floor of the towers contained over four million
pounds of structure reinforcement, and could simply not continue to fall the
way the towers fell if the floors collapsed on each other. The way the towers
fell was more like a chain reaction, like as if the structure of the towers
were weakened prior to the attack, somethings just don’t add up about the way
the towers fell. If you look at how long it took each tower to fall (fifteen to
twenty seconds) and the towers being 100 plus stories high, it seems like the
towers gave absolutely no resistance to the fall (1). 100 plus stories and
being well over 1,200 feet tall doesn’t seem logical on how quickly the towers
fell. The path looked identical to an controlled demolition of a skyscraper.
"The Twin Towers used a “tube within a tube”
architectural design, which provided considerable open office space in the
interiors of the Towers. Much of the structural support was provided by a dense
grouping of thick central core columns in the interior and the perimeter walls
on the outside" (Thomas). This quote explains how well the buildings were
designed and built to hold and support well over the weight of the mass pushing
down on each level of the towers. So, if the weight didn’t cause the towers to
fall, what did? The heat? Well, actually fires rarely ever get hot enough to
cause the whole structure of the towers to collapse or even enough heat to
weaken the supporting metal. Even with the help of the jet fuel in the plane,
it's still not enough heat to melt the steel surrounding structures, something
other must have caused the collapse.
The second claim is that
Nano-thermite and military-grade explosives were found in dust from the towers
and that tons of melted steel were found in the towers debris. Thermite is a
composition of metal powder, fuel and metal oxide. When ignited, the thermite
can reach maximum temperature of well over 4000°C in the matter of two seconds and can burn for
as long as fifteen seconds (McIlvaine). There has been proof that some residue
of the thermite has been recovered from Ground Zero. All of the thermite that’s
been recovered from the site has been seized and destroyed by the government.
It is very odd that the government destroyed all the evidence of the thermite
at Ground Zero unless they're trying to hide something from the public. There
has been evidence of a small pool of molten metal melted at the bottom of the
debris. It has been stated that jet fuel doesn’t burn at a high enough
temperature to melt the structure and the steel beams of the twin towers, so
could the thermite igniting and burning cause the steel support structures to
melt be the cause of the tower falling?
The last theory states that tower
seven was not hit by a plane, but collapsed neatly into its own footprint.
Nearly almost seven hours after the Twin Towers fell, building number seven
came down mysteriously on its own. The collapse of the building has been know
as a mystery. Many people, believe that the fire spread from the Twin Towers
and ignited the building, causing it to be brought down. "The same should
have been true, to be sure, of the collapse of the Twin Towers. But they had
been hit by planes, which had ignited big fires in them, and many people
assumed this combination of causes to be sufficient to explain why they came
down" (Griffin). The problem was that tower seven was not hit by a plane,
so apparently the building that was made up of steel frames and with so much
structural engineering collapsed due to a fire? It makes more sense to believe
that tower seven was pre-armed with explosives that assisted in bringing down
the massive structure.
A total of twenty people including
staff and students were asked the question, "Do you believe that the media
is hiding the true story of 9/11 from the public?" And, the results are
that fourteen out of twenty people agree that the media is hiding the key story
of 9/11 from us. It is crazy to see how many people agree, and that almost
everyone who agreed provided their opinions as to why they feel that way. The
popular conspiracy theories include that the Twin Towers collapsed at free-fall
accelerations through the path of greatest resistance, Nano-thermite and
military-grade explosives were found in dust from the towers, and tons of
melted steel were found also, and tower 7, which wasn’t hit by a plane,
collapsed neatly into its own footprint (Thomas).
In conclusion, on September 11, 2001, 19 militants with the
group of "al-Qaeda" that opposes the United States and what it stands
for, hijacked four commercial airliners and carried out attacks against
important US structures such as the World Trade Center. Flying the hijacked
planes into the twin towers as part of an suicide mission to try and cripple
our country and weaken our government. It was stated that the towers fell due
to the plane crashes alone, but many conspiracy theories arose out of this
catastrophe. These theories provide great evidence proving that what the media
is showing us, isn't the true story after all.
1. The Twin Towers collapsed at
free-fall accelerations through the path of greatest resistance (Thomas).
2. Nano-thermite and military-grade
explosives were found in dust from the towers. Tons of melted steel were found
in tower debris (1).
3. Tower 7, which wasn’t hit by a
plane, collapsed neatly into its own footprint (1).
These are some of the popular theories that prove that the
story aired about the attacks on September 11th , are lacking the
key parts of the actual truth about these horrible attacks
