Brittany Murphy was a successful female
actress who died at the young age of 32. When she initially died, it was believed that her
death was caused by pneumonia. However,
Brittany’s
husband Simon Monjack died just five months after her, also
from pneumonia. It is not
impossible for a couple to die within five months of each
other from the same cause, but it is
highly uncommon. Over time, conspiracies have surfaced that
Murphy and Monjack were
murdered by rat poisoning (Dillon). Sharon Murphy, Brittany Murphy’s mom, believes that she
died due
to mold inside the couple’s home. With all of the suspicion between Brittany
and her
husband’s death, let’s
explore the likelihood that they were poisoned that they were poisoned.
Character Analysis:
Brittany
Murphy’s friends and family would describe her as outgoing, compassionate, and
a go-getter. Brittany was a successful actress. She was born on November 10,
1977, in Atlanta, Georgia (Silverman). She died at the young age of thirty-two
on December 20, 2009, in Los Angeles, California (Silverman). Brittany lived a
short life, but she made the most out of it and lived her life to the fullest.
Ever
since Brittany was a child she was outgoing. She was always singing, dancing,
and acting. Her family knew since she was young that she would be a star. She
had such a bold personality and she was not afraid to be herself. She always
made it known when she walked into a room. She never really had a problem with
just being herself.
Brittany
was compassionate about everything she did. If she did not feel strongly about
doing it she would not be doing it. For example, one of the many things she was
compassionate about was acting. Brittany absolutely admired acting. She began acting at the age
of nine and landed her first commercial at the age of thirteen. It was not too
long after this that she got her first role in a movie. She starred in many hit movies such as: Clueless, Uptown Girls, Ramen Girl, Sin City, and 8 Mile. No matter the circumstances
she was facing she always overcame.
Brittany’s
friends, family, and fans would all agree that she is a go-getter. Anything she
wants she will get. Even if life throws obstacles her way, she will find a way
to defeat them. For instance, she wanted to be an actress from the time she was
a young child. Because of her dedication she completed that. Brittany was
extremely driven and because of that she never had much of a problem reaching
her goals. Brittany’s go-getter attitude is one of the main reasons she was
such a successful actress. When she knew something was worth fighting for, she
did not have a problem doing so. Due to her positive attitude towards any
situation, she was able to establish her musical and artistic abilities through
acting.
Conspiracy Theories:
During
the suspicious death of Brittany Murphy three conspiracy theories have
surfaced. The first one is stating how they believed she died of pneumonia, the
second one is about the possibility of her dying from exposure to mold in her
home, and the last one suggests she was poisoned (Baker).
The first
theory suggest that Brittany died of pneumonia. While this is not an uncommon
cause of death amongst people, her husband, Simon Monjack, also died from
pneumonia 5 months after she did (Baker). This is not impossible to happen, but
it is very uncommon that a couple dies from the same cause within 5 months of
each other. They also never really had accurate proof of this being the reason
her or her husband died I believe this theory to be inaccurate, but there are
some people who believe this was the cause of her death.
Brittany’s
mom believes that Murphy’s death was caused by exposure to mold inside her
house. There are many reasons this can be proven wrong. First of all, Brittany was not the only one
who was living inside of that house. Her husband and mother also lived with
her. It seems to me that if Brittany were to die from mold the others that were
living in the house would as well, but instead her husband died from pneumonia
and her mother is still living.
Because Brittany’s mother suggested this, Murphy’s father believes that
her mom was involved with her death. Although I do believe this theory to be incorrect, it makes me
question whether or not Brittany’s mother had something to do with the death of her
daughter. Brittany’s father has wanted police investigate and go into further
detail on her mother. Her mom may have wanted a portion of her fortune. The
fact that she is the one who tried to suggest that there was mold inside of the
couple’s home is extremely sketchy. I do not believe that there was mold inside
the home of Brittany Murphy, but it is a possibility that her mother is in on
her death.
This
last theory is the one that I find to be the truest. This theory claims that
Brittany’s death occurred due to her being poisoned. I believe that this was also the reason her husband
died. High levels of heavy metals and poisons were discovered in Brittany’s
hair (Longeretta). I find is very odd that neither Simon nor Brittany were
given a thorough and complete autopsy for poisons (Longereta). There is not a
specific person that could have done this, but Brittany and Simon were targeted
for retaliation that included land and aerial surveillance and a threatened
prosecution(Roberts). I would say that whoever was targeting them was out to
get them and is the person behind their death.
While
Brittany’s death still remains a mystery, I surveyed twenty people and asked
them if they believed Brittany was murdered or not. Out of those twenty people sixteen agreed
that she was murdered. We may never know the truth on what happened to Britany,
but hopefully one day the truth will be revealed.
Conclusion:
On
December 20, 2009, Brittany Murphy was pronounced dead. The cause for her death is
still unknown, but overtime many conspiracy theories have surfaced. Here are
three of those theories:
1. Brittany died from having
pneumonia
2. Brittany’s home had mold inside
and she was exposed to it.
3. Brittany was poisoned
Brittany’s death still remains a
mystery and the cause for her death is unsolved. Hopefully researchers can discover
what exactly caused her to die. Brittany will always be remembered for her
incredible acting abilities and infectious laugh.
