What
happened to Nicole Brown Simpson? On June 12, 1994, the thirty-five –year-old
from Frankfurt, Germany, was found dead in the front courtyard of her own
condominium (Linder). Even though there has already been a trial to convict her
husband, Orenthal James (O.J.) Simpson, of the murder, several believe that her
murderer is still out there. There are several conspiracy theories that
surround Nicole Brown Simpson’s case:
1. Did O.J. Simpson murder Nicole Brown
Simpson?
2. Was Nicole Brown Simpson Murdered by
O.J. Simpson’s Son?
3. Did O.J. Simpson hire contracted killer
to murder Nicole Brown Simpson?
Let’s
examine Nicole Brown Simpson, the conspiracy theories of her murder, and the
likelihood that she was murdered by O.J. Simpson.
Who
was Nicole Brown Simpson? If you were to
address her as Mrs. Perfect you wouldn’t be far off. As a child, Nicole was a
very lovable girl to her peers (Nicole Brown Simpson Biography). She was a very
popular girl at Dana Hills High School, her friends said that she was always
the “life of the party” and would “lighten everyone’s mood” (1). So during her
senior year in High School “Mrs. Perfect” went on to be named homecoming queen
(1). The title as homecoming queen fit her perfectly, because it is typically
awarded to the most popular and lovable girl in the class, which she was.
Standing no taller than five-foot-five, the brown-eyed-beauty was very hard to
dislike, maybe it was something about her perfect smile, or perhaps her long
blonde hair (1)?
Academically, high school was Nicole’s highest
level of education (1). This was most likely due to her being distracted by the
California life-style that she became so accustomed to. She embraced this new
life-style and later got her first job as a model. Her mentor said “Nicole was
simply a natural” while learning the ways of the modeling life (1). But, as
time went by, she temporarily quit modeling and became a waitress at the Daisy,
an upscale Beverly Hills club (1). With
being only 18 years old, it was frowned upon that she would do such a thing.
But, if the job had such a poor reputation, why would a young Nicole stay there
and work?
The
question can once-again be answered by the fact that she was blinded by the
California life-style. She kept the job for the people that would go there.
Celebrities would walk in and out of that club every night and that is what she
loved about it most (1). One night at work Nicole’s life changed forever when
she met the one and only Orenthal James (O.J.) Simpson (1).
Who was Orenthal James (O.J.)
Simpson? Ever since birth in 1947, young O.J. was the definition of a legend,
until it began crumple in his later years (O.J. Simpson Biography). Weighing
212 pounds, standing at a towering six-foot-one, he was a nationally ranked
football player and nearly every college in the nation wanted him (2). After
committing to the University of Sothern Carolina to play football, the
greatness kept rolling forward. He went on to win the most prestigious award in
college football, The Heisman Trophy, because of his outstanding performances
on the field. Because of this, O.J. was once-again highly sought after as a
football player, but this time, from the National Football League (NFL).
During
the 1969 NFL Draft O.J. was the first player picked in the first round by the
Buffalo Bills (2). He went on to have 12 record-setting years as a running back
in the NFL (2). Off the field, O.J. was in several movies and commercials
because of his national reputation as a football player. But, was their another
side to O.J. that the media did not show? As a child, O.J. was known it have
very bad anger management issues (2). His anger would tend to get triggered by
small comments and events that were of very low importance, such as when people
would say his name wrong or when he would get played-around with at school (2).
As the years went on, the media found out a side to O.J. that was never seen
before, his brutality.
Disloyal, cheating, and unfaithful
became words to describe O.J. and his love life. After marrying each other in
1985, Nicole began to notice that O.J. was “getting together” with other women
(1). Nicole friends and relatives would take her aside and tell her what O.J.
was doing to her, but she refused to believe these allegations (1). Some say
that after Nicole and O.J. would fight, O.J. would run off and cheat on Nicole,
to ease his anger (1). So one can only imagine how many times this happened
with O.J.’s short-temper.
People
said that Nicole was a very loving mother to her children, and would do
anything to make her and O.J.’s marriage work, but one day it became too much
(1). Nicole loved her children, so much that she would refuse to hire nannies
to watch them (1). Whether it was taking Sydney to dance lessons or watching
Justin at his karate competitions, Nicole was always there (1). O.J. ventured
into the movie business after his football career and became very distant from
his family, which lead to many arguments between the two parents. Close friends
would say that during these arguments O.J. would emotionally abuse Nicole with
the things that he would say to her (1).
As
time went on, emotional abuse turned into physical abuse. Friends started to
become aware of this when they began to see dark-purple bruises on her body
(1). Things got worse for the couple’s marriage during a 1989 New Year’s Eve
party, where O.J. allegedly threatened to kill Nicole (1). After years and
years of physical and emotional abuse from her husband, Nicole filed for
divorce in 1992 (1).
In
the end, the power couple of “Mrs. Perfect”, the popular teen turn loving
mother, and “Mr. Perfect”, the Hollywood football star turn abusive and
unfaithful husband, only lasted 7 years (1). As they experience their lives
without each other, Nicole begins to move on, and the media finds a way to
bring the former couple back into the newspapers, with a headline that would
make some people, drop dead.
In
the murder case of Nicole Brown Simpson, three notable conspiracy theories are
brought up. One of the theories suggests that her ex-husband, O.J. Simpson,
murdered her. However, the other two theories involve third party participants
such as, O.J. Simpson’s Son, and a contracted killer.
The
first conspiracy theory proposes that O.J. Simpson murdered Nicole Brown
Simpson. To begin, this theory is
believed to begin with another one of O.J.’s temper tantrums. O.J. was
allegedly spying on Nicole and saw her getting ready to have her new boyfriend,
Ron Goldman, over for dinner, and this sent him over the edge (Robitaille). After
seeing this, O.J. had a clear, jealous, motive to kill them both. So, later
that night O.J. went on to brutally murder them both, with a knife on Nicole’s
front porch. But how would all of this happen without any evidence?
The
evidence later rolled along and the police found out several things that
pointed towards O.J. as the murderer. To begin, at the murder scene, Nicole’s
dog Kato, a vicious Akita breed, was out and not in his cage (1). And after
running test on the dog’s claws, it was understood that the dog did not attack
the killer while it was out of its cage, suggesting that the murderer was
familiar to the dog (O.J.) (1). Immediately following the murder, Robert
Heidstra, Nicole’s neighbor, testified that he witnessed a white van (O.J.’s
Ford Bronco) driving away from the crime scene (1). After weeks of DNA testing
the results were quite eye-opening to the public. DNA evidence showed that five
blood drops found at the crime scene were traced back and belong to O.J. A
trail of blood that lead from the murdered bodies into the Rockingham Mansion
was an exact match to O.J.’s blood (1).
Through months of gathering and presenting eyewitness reports and other
evidence, the jury of the trial found O.J. Simpson not guilty under the account
of the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson (1).
The
second conspiracy suggests that Nicole Brown Simpson was murdered by O.J.
Simpson’s son, Jason Simpson. This conspiracy came to surface a couple years
after the jury hearing of the murder trial. Jason Simpson was known to be a
very dark kid, he was very interested in the world of knifes and was a heavy
drug abuser (DeNinno). Jason also suffered from intermittent rage disorder, and
was known to have a strong hatred for his dad’s ex-wife, Nicole (1). Jason’s
hatred towards Nicole reached its peak when she filed for divorce from his dad,
O.J (1). After considering these facts about Jason, it becomes apparent that he
had motive to kill Nicole Brown Simpson.
So, as planned, Jason waited for Nicole to
come home to kill her, but she had company, Ron Goldman. Out of impulse, Jason
then killed them both with an ironic murder weapon, a knife. After the murder took place, O.J. went into
trial as the prime suspect, but he was only covering for his son. Jason could
be easily identified as the murderer because of his strong hatred towards
Nicole, and that he has a relationship with the murder weapon of Nicole Brown
Simpson (knifes) (1). Although, this conspiracy makes it reasonable to believe
Jason Simpson killed his mom, Nicole, it is very unlikely due to little amounts
of evidence and too many accounts of assumption.
The
last conspiracy theory suggests that O.J. Simpson hired a contracted killer to
murder Nicole Brown Simpson. After their divorce, O.J. went onto acting in
movies and Nicole began to jump back into her career as a model (Robitaille).
As they both went on with their lives, O.J. began to become curious about what
Nicole was doing. So, O.J. began to spy on her and found out something that
triggered his inner rage. While spying, O.J. found out that Nicole was talking
to another man, Ron Goldman. After discovering this, O.J. decided that he was
going to kill them both out of pure rage, but he was too high in the public eye
to get away with it. So, O.J. hired a contracted killer to kill Nicole and her
friend Ron Goldman to calm his rage, and to stay clean. Looking back on this
theory, the likelihood of it to be true is very low due to the fact that it
relies too heavily on theoretical situations, with the absence of facts to back
them up.
Why
does O.J. Simpson remain the prime suspect in the murder of Nicole Brown
Simpson? Because of the undeniable facts that infer O.J. as the murderer. Even
though O.J. was not founded guilty, these eyewitness reports and other evidence
remain the same: the dog not attacking the murderer, the Robert Heidstra
testimony, and the DNA test results that matched the DNA of O.J (Robitaille).
All of these events in one way or another, infer that O.J., and only O.J., was
the murderer of Nicole Brown Simpson.
A
survey of twenty people revealed that 90% of the participants agreed that the
most likely scenario is Nicole Brown Simpson was murdered by O.J. Simpson. This
result was most likely due to the understanding of the undeniably true
eyewitness reports and other evidence. But in the end, the evidence remained
insufficient to charge O.J. Simpson with the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson.
Due to the fifth amendment of the United States, O.J. cannot be trialed for the
murder Nicole ever again. Hopefully, O.J. will reveal the truth about his
involvement in the Nicole Brown Simpson case as he continues his 33-year
sentence behind bars for outside reasons.
Currently,
the parents and relatives continue to search the blood-stained sidewalks of
Brentwood, Los Angeles for the killer of their daughter.
On
May 19, 1959, in the suburbans of Los Angeles, thirty-five-year-old Nicole
Brown Simpson was on a date with murder. The results of Nicole’s death led to
three conspiracy theories:
1. Did O.J. Simpson murder Nicole Brown Simpson?
2. Was Nicole Brown Simpson Murdered by
O.J. Simpson’s Son? 3. Did O.J. Simpson hire contracted killer to murder Nicole Brown Simpson?
In
2016, the twenty second anniversary of Nicole Brown Simpsons death, and the
murder remains unsolved. Orenthal James Simpson remains the prime suspect in
the murder case.
